Everyone thinks there are plenty jobs…bcuz all the hiring signs…It’s not true.
If you are applying for a bottom position…the employer gets a ten thousand dollar tax break if you are
Under 40, or if you have a disability that paperwork shows…or if you are an ex criminal…
Or you were in the service, or if you were on unemployment or food stamps in the last
Six months…and if you are not of European decent…also, if you are bilingual you get preference…maybe I should have learned Spanish…but I struggled in school and it’s taken a lifetime to speak English half clear. I was a single mom living with my parents…my life revolved around serving…I got 2 years of college, minus 3 classes….so almost an associate of arts degree…with much tutoring…I like a job that requires me to use my brain…I can get very bored otherwise….I drove a shuttle for 15 and a half months to and from the airport…all night 5 nights a week including weekends…someone had to put my name in and bug them everyday until they called…I had the worst shift and hated the job very much…I endured it as long as I could stand. Now for 6 months I have been applying for jobs everywhere with no luck. My resume doesn’t have a lot…I did home cleaning b4 all that…and it took a toll on my respiratory system and I hated that also very much…only chose bcuz it worked with my schedule of all that was on my plate…I have also off and on applied for jobs for many years now…I have had some temp jobs thru the temp agency…none of those places have jobs any more…and the ones they gave were short term and not good…I had a couple of jobs…they gave me the late night then early morning shift…where u get bout 4 hours of sleep…well, how well can I perform with a sched that robs me of rest…I tried the self employed grocery and food deliveries that wear your vehicle out and pay almost zero…it’s like living on a credit card…u make nothing, bcuz it cost more to manage ur vehicle than what you get paid for the miles you have to drive and if you click accept an offer..then u google and see the person lives an hour away for a 6 buck delivery…then u cancel, bcuz u realize u can’t afford that…they lower ur rate and u eventually get fired…it’s a system set up to make sure u don’t succeed…it is better than standing in front of walmart with a can to raise funds for food…but it is not a way to succeed. It has taken endless hours online filling out applications…then they want a bunch of personality tests, etc…taken…and for each company…if you keep spending an hour and a half doing that…it robs you of a lot of time…I have always been a pretty positive person…inspite of all odds, but this has been very frustrating and discouraging to me….and I realize others have been in the same boat…but many haven’t and it has left me very overwhelmed and feeling pretty hopeless…everyone has an idea from their perspective….but the old saying goes…never judge a man until you have walked a mile in their shoes…not shoes that look like theirs…but their shoes…one thing it’s teaching me…is do not judge people…homeless or whatever…bcuz you really do not know their story…I am thankful for God’s presence so near to me…in this valley and all that I’ve walked thru…He has been merciful and gracious to me…I have not deserved it for sure…my attitude has not been positive and I am humbled that He looks past that and loves me anyhow…Please pray for me and if you do know anyone who would hire me…I live on the beltway in humble…so it needs to be local or remote..
