This Maori Hook pendant is the closest affordable one I could find to what the original Maori Hooks looked like that were carved from Yak bones. This symbol originated in New Zealand. Most people today, especially travelers and scuba divers, wear it as a symbol for safe travel over the seas and to show respect for the seas. This pendant is 2 inches long, 1 1/4 inches wide. This particular Maori Hook pendant has tribal black carvings on it. Since this Maori symbol speaks to everyone at every age, I chose to have this on an adjustable cord so everyone, no matter their size, can wear it - in the water or out.
